All Natural Soaps by Dr. Jacobs are wonderful!

I received these samples at no cost to me in order to review them. All opinions of these products are entirely my own.

Dr. Jacobs Naturals

These soaps are wonderful and so gentle on my skin! I received a large 32oz bottle of Almond Honey Castile Liquid Soap, a 16oz bottle of Eucalyptus Castile Liquid Soap, and a 5oz bar of Lucious Lavender Loofa Exfoliating Castile Soap to try out.
All of them are made in America of all natural ingredients.

The first one I tried was the Almond Honey soap. I was going to take a shower so I decided to try it out there. Very first thing I noticed was the delicious smell of almond and honey. It really smelled good enough to eat! The bottle says it can be used as shampoo and body wash so I opted to wash my hair with it as well.

You only need a small amount on your loofa to wash your body. I think I used a dime's worth and had more than enough lather. It felt gentle on my skin and didn't leave it feeling tight like some bar soaps can do. Putting about a quarter's worth in my hand to wash my hair was plenty and I have extremely long hair! I will say I washed it twice to be sure it was clean but it again lathered up nicely and didn't irritate my scalp. I have issues with some shampoos and dyes that burn my scalp or make it itch. I didn't have any problems using the Dr. Jacobs soap.

The ingredients in the Honey Almond Soap are as follows:
Purified Water, Saponifed Coconut Oil, Saponified Olive Oil, Potassium Oleate,
Vegetable Glycerin, Coco-Glucoside, Natural Almond Honey Fragrance, Sea Salt
Aloe Vera, and Vitamin E

On another day I sampled the Eucalyptus Liquid Castle Soap. I have to say that I do not care for the smell of Eucalyptus so I was apprehensive. It was ok. I still don't care for the scent but it was very light and it faded quickly. As I don't like the smell, I didn't wash my hair with it but did use it as a hand soap in the bathroom.

It comes with a nice pump which makes it easy to apply to your palm. I probably will see if I can transfer that pump to the other bottle because I like that application better than just pouring it out. Like the Almond Honey soap, a little goes a long way so you don't need to use a lot to get a good lather. It too felt moisturizing on my skin and didn't make it feel tight.

Ingredients in the Eucalyptus Soap are as follows:
Purified Water, Saponifed Coconut Oil, Saponified Olive Oil, Potassium Oleate,
Vegetable Glycerin, Coco-Glucoside, Eucalyptus Oil, Sea Salt
Aloe Vera, and Vitamin E

Lastly I used the Lucious Lavender Loofa Exfoliating Castile Soap Bar.

This soap like the others mentioned is also all natural. It has little pieces of lavender in it that acts like a loofa to exfoliate your skin gently as you use it. It has no Parabens or Petrochemicals, it is Gluten free and 100% Vegan and Cruelty Free so you can feel good about using it.

The scent is amazing. It actually smells to me like fresh cut lavender! I used it on my face and it actually was pretty gentle. When I rinsed it off, my face felt smooth and fresh. The soap lathers well, and dosen't feel greasy. I think I enjoyed this one the best out of all three.

Mother of The Bride.....FINALLY!!!

My middle child has been with her boyfriend for about 9 years. They are both in their late 20's and have given me every excuse as to why they weren't married yet. Most often it was financial which I suppose I can get behind, but I didn't think of that when I got married. Then again, maybe that is part of the reason my marriage failed after 25 years. Who knows?

So when I was asked to doggy sit their chihuahua while they went to Las Vegas I really didn't concern myself with marriage. The only thing I half jokingly said was NOT to get married unless I was there to see it. I would not be robbed of seeing my daughter tie the knot. Of course they both laughed and promised me that it wouldn't happen and I knew it wouldn't anyway.

So, in the middle of the night four days into their vacation I get a phone call from my daughter. She is crying hysterically and all I can make out is " I got hit...". Of course I think she or her boyfriend got hit on the Vegas Strip!!! I start screaming "WHAT?? What happened?? Are you hurt?? Is he hurt??" and who knows what else! Then she says " No no no I got engaged!!" ( I think originally she said "I got hitched" now that I think about it.). And so the madness of a wedding begins.

So many things to decide and of course to buy. They are going to be on a really tight budget so we are scouring Pinterest and different wedding websites for ideas. She wants an outdoor wedding and after much soul searching they decided on a boathouse near a local lake for their venue. Its not terribly expensive but they are going to have to hire  a security guard and a clean up crew. Things that we didn't consider and didn't plan for budget wise. I am starting to believe this is just the start of unplanned expenses associated with a wedding.

So, next we will be moving on to dresses for herself, me, and the bridal party. She wants to keep it simple and as inexpensive as possible. We are going to check out David's Bridal first so that will probably be my next post. Its finally beginning to set in that I am HBIC (Head Bitch In Charge) as my daughter calls me, or more formally the Mother of the Bride.

Already there is stress as to who to cut from the guest list, who is being ushered by who, and other family crap. We are a blended family and there is Mother of the Bride, Stepmother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom, Stepmother of the Groom, Father of the Bride, Stepfather of the Bride and Father of the Groom. A very large group of individuals that don't necessarily get along with each other. I am hoping we can put aside all of our personal feelings and come together to see this couple off to a good start. My ex saying he didn't want to walk down the aisle with me is fine, but  asking my daughter to allow his new wife and himself to walk her down the aisle is out of the question! This is just one of the many things that are popping their ugly heads up. Again... I remain positive that we can get this wedding done without anyone killing one another, but we shall see.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on budget friendly table settings, decor, music, etc I welcome you to comment below. Stay tuned for more exciting blog posts from me about this wedding. I might even post a photo or two of the dresses in the next one.

Mugenter Adjustable Dog Harness is here!

* I received a dog harness at a reduced cost for this reviews, however all views expressed are entirely my own.

My god dogger Sophie came to visit me!!

My daugher and her now fiance went to Los Vegas last month and I got to watch their fur baby Sophie for a week while they were gone. Jennifer went and got engaged on this trip but that is a blog post for another  day! This post is about Sophie and the Mugenter adjustable dog harness review.

So just like any kid visiting Grandma, Sophie's parents packed all her stuff so she would be comfortable for the week. I am talking a dog bed, a blanket, toys, food and treats, a nylon jacket, leash, and a harness. From day one, that harness and I were mortal enemies. No matter what way I tried to put it on, it would twist up into a knot. I ended up using the nylon jacket, which Sophie HATES, instead of the harness from hell.

I was offered a nylon harness from Mugenter to review and I decided to try it out. I ordered it on Amazon and surprise surprise...Amazon delivered within two days!! I was immediately impressed with the simplicit of the design. All I had to do was unbuckle the underneath strap that goes across Sophie's tummy and resnap it. I put her little chubby legs through the leg loops and adjusted the straps to fit her girth. I love Sophie to death but she is not your typical small chihuahua. The girl loves her treats and her tummy proves it.

Now I live in the woods so I was happy to have not only a secure harness but also a choice of two leashes. There is a short one which I believe is maybe 1 to 2 feet long, and a longer one which I would estimate at about 4 to 5 feet long. I also tried her retractable leash with the harness and even though the clip on the leash is smaller than the others, it still worked fine. I opted to use the retractable one and keep Soph on a short leash. We honestly have coyotes, mountain lions and other creatures out here that would have loved a fat chihuahua snack.

This harness is great because it is secure and it is lightweight. It is nylon so if the weather is poor you can still use the harness and not have it get waterlogged. It fit nicely once I got it adjusted to her body. It did slide around a little at first so I had to keep readjusting til I got it right but once I did, it worked well.

Family Game Night? Great Idea!

This is a sponsored post and I did receive this game at no cost for my review. All opinons expressed are entirely my own.

One of the things I have noticed in the last few years is that we are becoming more isolated and less social. How many times have you gone to a restaurant or a store and seen people with their noses glued to their smart phone? Most often totally oblivious to everyone around them.  Perhaps your own dinner table is this way as well with everyone Facebooking or YouTubing instead of actually talking to each other.

We are getting distant with our fellow man and we are teaching our children to do the same. We need to reverse this and become social again. One of the ways you can do that is to have a family game night. Pick a night that works for everyone and have the rule of no phones on during the two hour time period. Pick a game that everyone agree's on, or even do a hat draw and pick one randomly and then play together for a could of hours. Its fun and you might just learn something along the way.

One of the games that I like to play is Watch Ya Mouth - Throwdown Edition. It is a fun game that is good for kids or adults 12 years or older. Its great for families because it involves 4 or more family members at a time. You get 142 cards, 10 colored mouthpieces, 4 straws, 4 noisemakers, and 2 throwdown balls. There are over 100 head to head mouth piece challenges.

You have to wear a mouth piece ( there are 2 different sizes one for kids and one for adults) and depending on the card drawn you have to speak a phrase or do a challenge. Things like making the most noise with a noisemaker, or drink a glass of water the fastest are not going to be easy with your mouth wide open. It is a funny game that will definitely bring your family together.

I had to use the smaller mouthpiece as the adult one was too big for my mouth. Also be prepared for drooling because it WILL happen, but it had me laughing right away!
This is one of the phrases you are asked to say while having the mouthpiece in. I will say it isn't easy but it is hilarious!

You get 4 colored straws for challenges, mouth pieces in large and small sizes, cards, a dice, a timer, two plastic balls, and four noise makers. Make sure you clean the pieces after each use. The mouthpieces are dishwasher safe and the others can be cleaned with soap and water.

Right now you can save 15% off this amazing game with the code 15THROWDOWN so visit

Be Thankful This Month...But Also Share...

November is the month of Thanksgiving, and I see so many social media posts about people being thankful for this or that, and that is a good thing. It is wonderful to be appreciative of good health, of loving family, of having food and shelter and just being alive. We take so much for granted in our lives, and it is good to recognize and acknowledge all the nice things we wake up to each day.

On that same note of being gracious, why not share a little with those less fortunate. I mean no matter how lousy we feel our own life is going, there are many that are worse off. There are people sleeping on sidewalks all the time. Children that go without food because their parents cannot provide it. Men and women walking the streets because they cannot get the mental health that they need. I know one donation can't save the world, but if everyone does just one selfless act, we can as a people, make a change for someone out there.

Thanksgiving is a good place to start. Many food banks and churches are in dire need of food for their give away programs. Donate a turkey, or some canned vegetables, and make someone's holiday a little brighter. Better yet, donate cash that can be used for not only Thanksgiving, but the whole year round. Volunteer your time to prepare meals o a church kitchen and see where your donations of food go. See the face of poverty first hand and how grateful these folks are for a smile and a warm meal.

We are all just steps from being in these people's shoes. It is easy to judge when you don't know the story. You can say "Oh its just going to go to drugs or alcohol." or "H=ow do I know this guy is really homeless." And believe me, we have all said or thought this, myself included, but who are we to judge someone else's life? We need to raise each other up as human beings worthy of help and goodness and stop putting each other down. If we can do that, maybe there is still some faith that we can survive as a whole and not fragmented parts.

Anyway, that's just my rambling thought for the day. If you made it all the way through this, thank you for listening. If I made any kind of an impact, go out and do a little something. It will make your soul feel good knowing you are part of the solution.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and know that I am thankful for all of you.

Colortime Kits are here!!

*I received a tote and markers for my review but all opinions are entirely my own.

Colortime Halloween Tote Review

I was able to review a Halloween tote and fabric markers for Colortime. I received one canvas type tote of a decent size and one green, one purple, and one orange fabric marker to color my tote. The design was well printed on the tote bag and it was very easy to create a personal tote. I will say I wish they had included a yellow marker and a black one because three markers were not enough.

The kit came with instructions on how to color the bag without bleed through affecting the back side which I found very helpful. I just found an old piece of cardboard from an Amazon shipping box and fit it inside the tote before I started coloring, The fabric markers do have a chemical smell to them so you might want to work in a well ventilated place. Because it only came with the three markers I did use my Sharpie markers to augment the colors that were provided.

I found the tote very easy to color on, and the fabric markers worked well. With the design printed using a heavy outline it was easy to keep the colors contained  to where I wanted them.

Colortime has all types of coloring projects on their website and even offers a birthday club. I was pleasantly surprised at what they offer on their website www.colortime.com , I suggest that you go take a look at what they have. Their products will make awesome Holiday gifts for any child on your shopping list.
